To use a cedar smudge stick:
Light the tip of the stick, let it burn briefly, then blow out the flame to create a smoldering smoke; move the stick around your space, wafting the smoke into corners and doorways, while setting an intention for cleansing and purification, and finally extinguish the smudge stick in a fireproof dish of sand when finished; focus on directing the smoke where you want to cleanse energy, like around your body or throughout a room.
